In the recently held 2012 Beijing conference on intellectual property work, WANG Hong, director of Beijing Intellectual Property Administration, disclosed that in last year, invention patents per 10,000 people in Beijing has amounted to 26.78, ranking first in the country, which, not merely completing ahead the targeted amount of the 12th Five-Year Plan, is more than eight times of the targeted amount.
Authorities point out that it needs a clear understanding of that indicator. Just as stated by WANG, compared with the wealthy scientific, educational and intellectual resources, the current number of intellectual property rights of Beijing is still to be improved and the quality to be improved, and the methods and ways for intellectual property to permeate and serve the economy still need to be further explored.
