Recently, upon approved by Guangdong Provincial Government, Guangzhou officially launched the selection event of “Guangzhou IPR Protection Mayor Award", deciding to set up honors and rewards to units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in Guangzhou intellectual property protection, social right-safeguarding and law enforcement protection work. It is reported that the award selection set up three kinds of awards, and the highest reward is CNY500, 000.
It is the first move in the country to set up Mayor Award for protection of intellectual property rights. The awards target three categories of intellectual property market players: 1. enterprises, universities, research institutes and other innovative subjects; 2. enterprises, institutions, trade intermediary service organizations, social media etc social right-safeguarding entities; and 3. the administrative, judicial, arbitration etc law enforcement bodies.
