The results of 2011 annual major technological inventions of information industry were released in Beijing on December 29. ZTE (Microblogging) High-Performance LTE Wireless Access Communication System etc 5 projects are selected as the major technological inventions of 2011 information industry. YANG Xueshan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, expressed on the conference that the whole information industry should further enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency, and actively promote technological innovation and intellectual property strategy, to achieve a major breakthrough of the key and common technologies, to speed up the transformation of the mode of development, and to realize the long-term stable and rapid development of information industry.
It is reported that as of June 30, 2011, China's IT patent applications reached 1.364 million, an increase of 20%, among which the growth rate of invention patents of higher levels of technology was significant, with the total number of applications being over 910,000, an increase of 20%, for the first time exceeding the number of patent applications of foreign applicants. This indicates that China's information industry technology innovation capability has been enhanced significantly, and technological innovation and intellectual property protection play an active role in promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.
The appraising and selecting events of major technical inventions of information industry have been held 11th times since 2001, totally declaring more than 1,000 projects and selecting 71 projects.
